My Vision for Lay Ministry

Rev. Joseph Kyalo Kioko

It is clear to me that the Lord has called me to equip leaders in the Body of Christ so that they can become effective and fruitful in fulfilling the ministry God has entrusted to them.

I am beginning with the lay leaders in my own ministry. I have already identified leaders who are ready and willing to receive training, and I plan to begin their training this month.

I believe that equipping both lay leaders and pastors will strengthen not only the individuals being trained but also the entire ministry. I am hopeful that, through this training, our ministry will grow to another level of effectiveness and impact.

As we train and equip leaders, I envision planting more churches and raising new leaders who can serve God faithfully in their communities.

My vision does not stop with my own ministry. After completing this program, I hope to extend the training to pastors and church leaders throughout our community of Kibera in Nairobi, Kenya. Kibera is one of the most densely populated communities in Nairobi, with a very large population, many of whom have not yet been reached with the Gospel. There is also a great need to equip and strengthen pastors and church leaders who are already serving there.

Therefore, after completing this program, I plan to make the training available to pastors and churches throughout the community. My desire is to see churches become stronger, healthier, and more effective in reaching people for Christ.

I also envision taking this ministry beyond the urban setting and into rural communities. Many pastors and church leaders in rural areas have limited opportunities for theological and ministry training. I desire to reach these leaders, equip them, encourage them, and help them become more effective in their ministries and churches.

In addition, I have churches and ministry connections in Zambia and Uganda. I hope to reach out to pastors and church leaders in these countries and provide training and encouragement so that they, too, can become effective servants and leaders in the Body of Christ.

I know that there will be challenges along the way, especially financial challenges. Therefore, I sincerely ask for your prayers as I step out in faith to serve and equip pastors, lay leaders, and churches that may have limited resources and opportunities for training.

My prayer is that, through this ministry of equipping and multiplying leaders, the Church will be empowered, inspired, strengthened, and multiplied. I believe that when ordinary believers are equipped and released to use their gifts for God’s work, the impact can reach far beyond one local church.

This is my vision: to equip leaders, strengthen churches, reach communities, plant new churches, and multiply ministry for the glory of God.

All that I do, and all that I hope to accomplish, is ultimately for the glory of God.

Thank you.
